Master of Science Degree Program
Master Of Science In Pharmacogenomics & Personalized Medicine (MS in PGPM)
The Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine (M.S. in PGPM) degree provides the opportunity for students to explore the relationship between an individual’s genetic make-up, their health, and their response to medications. The coursework in the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacogenomics Program, along with coursework in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacogenomics from the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy (BJDSOP) Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum, serves as the didactic foundation of the M.S. in PGPM Program. Students that have completed the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacogenomics may apply to the M.S. in PGPM Program in order to complete a research project in pharmacogenomics and/or personalized medicine and earn their Master of Science degree.
Dual Degree Programs
Doctor of Pharmacy/Master of Business Administration (Pharm.D./MBA)
The cooperative Doctor of Pharmacy/Master of Business Administration (Pharm.D./MBA) program is designed to aid students who seek positions of management and leadership that require a combination of patient care and management skills. If you are interested in the business side of pharmacy operations, then the joint PharmD/MBA program is right for you. You can earn an MBA and graduate with two degrees at the end of your four years you have already committed to the PharmD degree.
Doctor of Pharmacy/Pharmacogenomics & Personalized Medicine Dual Degree
The dual program prepares students to enter a wide-range of pharmacy positions that address some of today’s most challenging health care issues. Shenandoah University and Inova have partnered to offer a master’s degree in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine (PGPM) for students in the Bernard J. Dunn Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program interested in exploring this fascinating field of study and applying knowledge of the human genome to clinical practice. This degree prepares you for career opportunities in biologic technology, at genetic testing laboratories, or within the pharmaceutical industry. It also provides you with the skill set needed to pursue specialized fields in health care that are poised for growth.
Doctor of Pharmacy/Master of Public Health Dual Degree
The purpose of the Doctor Of Pharmacy/Master Of Public Health Dual Degree Program is to graduate highly qualified health professionals who have obtained competencies necessary to succeed in the rapidly changing healthcare system. The dual program prepares students to enter a wide-range of pharmacy and public health positions that address today’s most challenging population health care issues. A Public Health Pharmacist can be involved in advanced pharmacy practice, health policy development, emergency and humanitarian response, public health leadership, and much more.
